Calgary students join trip to Fort McMurray to see oil sands for themselves

After a 45-minute drive outside of Fort McMurray, a yellow tour bus was surrounded by white haze above grey sand.

In the distance, a smoke plume billowed into an otherwise clear blue sky. The air smelled like fresh pavement.

Residents have different opinions about the storage of containers

If your house has not yet received a black bin for garbage disposal, then you can expect to have one delivered in the near future. Some bins have already been distributed to communities in the southeast area of the city and will continue to be delivered until by June 2011, when all Calgarian residences will have a black bin.
