The Calgary Jazz Orchestra performs in concert Jan. 30

Johnny Summers began playing the trumpet in junior high because it was small and easy to carry. And, the better he got at it the more he appreciated the instrument.

Little did he know that he would become a professional musician and founder and director of the Calgary Jazz Orchestra, or CJO as it is known.
